Friends,
Our team recognizes that families are in intrinsic part of The People’s Reset Activation community. Many attendees are parents or soon-to-be parents or grandparents. We know that we must work to build a better future by starting with the way we relate to the children.
As part of our ongoing effort to make The People’s Reset more family friendly, we are excited to announce the Freedom Families Project!
What is a Freedom Family?
A Freedom Family is a vital segment within our community. We are the present. We are a product of the past. Most importantly, Freedom Families represent the future – a future together as a community which we are all striving to co-create.
We support the ancient Iroquois’ belief in The Seventh Generation Principle. Namely, that the decisions we make today should result in a sustainable world for seven generations into the future. Freedom families embody this principle as well as focusing on healing generational traumas we inherited through actively reparenting ourselves and making conscious choices.
Freedom Families brings together all —grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and children—in the spirit of connection, learning, support, and sovereignty. Together, we share and implement actionable solutions, nurturing a sense of community and familial bond.
Freedom Families are organized as a complement within the People’s Reset Activation, fostering community-driven, co-created learning experiences for both children and adults.
They say, “It takes a village to raise a child”. As parents, we deeply know this experience through every stage of our children’s lives. From gestation to adult children, we can all benefit from the wisdom, nurturing and support from our community. Many of us feel isolated and alone on our journeys and oftentimes, bump up against mainstream parenting which can be in contrast to the things that are important to us.
Living in alignment with freedom principles, Freedom Families embody the spirit of partnership, conscious parenting and impacting the world in positive and uplifting ways. Many of us choose to educate our children outside of the governmental systems and employ different styles of parenting, however we remain respectful of others’ sovereign journeys.
As part of the Freedom Families Project, facilitator Lainie Liberti will host two very important sharing circles for parents during the People’s Reset Activation:
Parent’s Workshops
Parents MUST have a safe space to connect, learn, share their fears, challenges and obstacles, feel seen, heard and understood and be surrounded by elders and others on the same journey.
Tech and your Child – Circle Discussion Group supporting parents on their journey as they navigate screen time, gaming, restrictions and limits. Many parents struggle as they bump up against screen time issues with their child. How do we remain in partnership, support our children’s passions and create healthy limits? If this is alive for you and your family, please join this discussion circle.
TIME and LOCATION TO BE ADDED TO THE WORKSHOP SCHEDULE BY JAN 1st.
Conscious Parenting, Partnership, Self-Directed Learning and More – Circle Discussion Group supporting parents to become anarchist / voluntaryist parents. Many parents live their lives through the consent-based principles but do not have the tools to apply this to their own parenting. Please join this discussion circle if you are looking for tools to help you transform your parenting into a paradigm of partnership.
TIME and LOCATION TO BE ADDED TO THE WORKSHOP SCHEDULE BY JAN 1st.
Other Potential Activities
Free Play
Self organized free play for all ages with supervision -materials available including balls, art supplies, instruments, craft supplies and board/ card games.
Collaboration
During the People’s Reset Activation, Freedom Families will come together, in the spirit of support and learning. We will look to the spirit of our community to help us facilitate, volunteer and support our children’s programming too. You don’t have to be a parent to share your passion for soccer, host a board game, lead a game of Simon Says, initiate an art project, or help us supervise free play. Like we said above…it takes a community!
