Founder + Developer – Qortal Blockchain Project
I am the (for lack of a better way to explain it) the ‘primary founder’ of the Qortal Blockchain Project. I designed many of the concepts ultimately adopted by the platform, and pulled together the original group of people that were able to launch the project.
Qortal is (in my opinion) the only true ‘next generation internet’ platform that exists. It is a fully featured base-level infrastructure capable of rebuilding everything on ‘The Internet’ in the way the internet was originally created to be… Person-to-Person in every aspect.
From true layer1-layer1 cross-blockchain trades with no third parties, additional fees, etc… to fully decentralized website, applications, and communications functionality, Qortal provides the true foundation of the blockchain-based digital future that actually puts the power back into the hands of the people.
With a focus well outside that of ‘being a coin’, Qortal challenges the paradigm of both the existing internet and the existing projects claiming to be building ‘decentralized web3’, and provides an actual demonstration of a working network that truly does provide features owned, controlled, and published by the users and the users alone.
The project is now over 5 years post-genesis, and has extensive new features allowing for nearly any project that exists on the internet, to be re-built in a way that requires no servers, no DNS, and zero centralized authority of any kind.
I myself, Jason Crowe, am currently a member of the ‘Developer Admins’, in the primary development group on Qortal. The Developer admins are those that are the core of the development group, and have come together out of a need to see real decentralized technology and not what has been masquerading as decentralized technology seen in the world today, in order to create a truly fair and balanced economy without a select subset of companies owning and controlling everything.
Truly censorship proof, (not ‘censorship resistant’, as that is not a thing…), Qortal stands essentially alone as the only truly censorship proof digital publishing platform in the world. Adding to it with a completely custom blockchain with a novel consensus that rewards proof of contribution over time, and leverages a memory-based proof of work.
If the future is going to be in the hands of the people, it is Qortal that is going to get us there in a way that cannot be stopped, hacked, or taken down. With zero reliance upon any centralized service providers, functions, or backend components, Qortal truly provides its users with the freedom to be themselves in whichever way they choose.
With many existing applications, such as ‘Q-Tube’, decentralized video publishing (YouTube alternative), Q-Mail (truly secure, decentralized/encrypted mail with attachments, and much more), Q-Fund (decentralized automated crowdfunding), Q-Blog (blogging), Q-Assets (layer 1 Qortal ‘token’ or ‘asset’ issuance, management, publications, news, project management, and community features with much more on the way), Q-Shop (shop creation, commerce, sales, etc.) and many other ‘Q-Apps’ already existing and fully functional, Qortal doesn’t just claim to do what it does, it demonstrates it.
Issues of the past on the platform have now been fully resolved, stability bugs fixed, and rewards structure completely balanced, bringing Qortal into the next generation and making it ripe for a new wave of truly individually sovereign users ready to experience what not being spied on and having true freedom in the digital world feels like.
Qortal is now nearly 5.5 years old, and past the early bug resolution and testing phase, ready to become more well-known, and widely adopted by people who understand the threat of complete lack of freedom, censorship, and complete control in progress by the centralized power structures.
If you haven’t seen Qortal recently, you should really check it out again. If you haven’t seen it at all, the only things you miss are the things you don’t try.
Qortal is now fully mobile compatible, with Qortal Go mobile interface, and a completely re-designed primary interface, Qortal Hub, is now at version 0.5.5 and rising. A fully ‘hosted access’ method is available to allow users to test things out, create accounts easily, and see what it is all about, without having to download or install anything, available here – https://hub.qortal.link (which should re-direct to https://go.qortal.link on mobile…) – allowing users to try it out, and see what exists without even having to install an app.
