Introduction: I have some good news for you and some bad news,
– Bad news: Solutions are just another way the Matrix keeps you trapped inside it.
– Good news: The way out is to stop solving your problems!
Abstract: Many of us grow up in environments that emphasize identifying problems and seeking solutions. While this approach may seem practical, it often confines us to a problem-solution mindset, which can limit our ability to envision and achieve desired outcomes.
As Robert Fritz, renowned business consultant and teacher of the creative process, aptly states, “You can solve all your problems and still not have what you desire.” This insight highlights a fundamental flaw in the solution-driven approach: it focuses on mitigating issues rather than fostering creativity and designing the futures we truly want.
Come explore the limitations of solutionism and try on a transformative perspective. The session will consist of 3 parts: an exploration of the limits of problem-solving and an introduction to the creative process, a demonstration of how problem-solving can hinder goal achievement, and an experiential activity for participants to feel the difference between focusing on problems and creating a vision.
Instead of viewing life as a series of problems to be fixed, we will examine how these so-called “problems” can serve as raw materials for the creative process or even be set aside entirely. Attendees will have the opportunity to discover for themselves new possibilities for more effective actions toward their deepest desires.
