From off-license healing to empowered technologies, homeschooling circles to food sovereignty hubs, forward-thinking builders began sidestepping the failing systems of the nation-state and re-learning how to live in harmony with each other and the Earth years ago. This was the beginning of the parallel society—a world built not in struggle or opposition to the current one, but the abundance that lies beyond it.
Therefore, the call is not to start something new—but to connect. To unify what already exists into a visible, coherent fabric of mutual support, which will naturally encourage new projects to unfold. This is the networking of the parallel society.
This is not a utopian blueprint, but a lived reality that many have already been building, each in their own way. In this workshop, we’ll explore the spiritual, philosophical, and historical foundations of choosing to live outside hierarchical systems, including:
• How to reclaim our innate rights beyond state-defined “personhood”
• What it means to organize without coercion, licensure, or legal fiction
• The Inside-Outside game: why you don’t need to abandon everything about your life in the system to be involved in building our parallel future today.
Taking inspiration from figures like Václav Havel, we will discuss how organized, nonviolent, bottom-up networks of people—unified by shared values rather than hierarchical authority—can and have toppled corrupt regimes and reclaimed sovereignty for entire Peoples. By nurturing parallel civil societies—through underground culture, alternative media, and mutual support—people build movements so powerful, they peacefully dismantle decades of oppression.
We’ll not only discuss the well established political entity of the parallel society and why it can and has worked in the past, but actually walk through a modern-day framework for how this non-hierarchical alignment can give us structure for exiting the industrial corporate systems that no longer serve us. We will explore a new, member-created online forum aimed toward bridging all sectors of the parallel society onto a cohesive map structure, and the potential roles that participants could embody within the parallel structure. The forum is designed to be an online container for the energy and activations of The People’s Reset to continue all year round – workshops, classes, music, community, etc.
Parallel society is not just a vision or a future possibility. You have already started this hard work. Through your projects, your communities, your values, and your actions, a different future is being born every day.
